The school’s international partners include the Dali Experimental School in Guangdong Province, China and Atlas Academy in Shanghai, China. The collaboration with the Dali School, a grades 1-5 private school, has been ongoing for five years and has involved a variety of programming including a teacher exchange. On two different occasions Dali School teachers traveled to the Lippman School to teach students about Chinese culture, including art, history, daily life in China, and cultural traditions. One Dali teacher taught the students martial arts in PE, using only Chinese language to instruct so that the students not only learned some basic martial arts skills but also Chinese words and phrases. Reciprocally, Lippman teachers traveled to China on three different occasions to teach at the Dali School. Dali School students have also participated in summer camp programming at Lippman while Lippman students have traveled to China to learn at the Dali School. Additionally, Lippman also developed a cultural immersion camp for Chinese students where students from Shanghai’s Atlas Academy participated. One such camp focused on learning about America’s national parks where Atlas students had the opportunity to travel to and learn in Cuyahoga Valley National Park and Yellowstone National Park.
