The Lippman School begins a multiage classroom environment beginning in the first grade. This approach to the social and academic dynamic is facilitated by lead teachers who instruct, guide and teach the core subjects of reading, writing, math, social studies and social-emotional learning within a two-year, spiraled curricular framework. Children engage in both independent and collaborative exploration and discovery as they master skills, build their knowledge base, and shape their understanding of the world. Reading and writing stories, completing research projects, computing and solving problems, conducting science experiments, and creating performances and artwork round out a rich and engaging primary school experience. Life skills that children use well into adulthood are incorporated into every facet of the curriculum. They also receive instruction from content specialists in a second language, science, technology, art, music, PE and Core Values.
Experiences outside of school, such as field trips and community involvement, enrich the curriculum and give children the opportunity to learn in real-world settings.
